VAN (Voter Action Network / Votebuilder) is a database used nationally by Democratic campaigns and progressive organizations to perform voter contact and supporter/volunteer management. VAN empowers campaigns and activists with the tools they need to win elections up and down the ballot. Our online database organizes voter and volunteer information to ensure we target the right voters and turn them out to vote. Campaigns run more efficiently and effectively when campaigns and activists track their projects and successes.

This is a powerful database during election time and is updated regularly every month. When using VAN, Democrats ensure that our communities are registered to vote and can encourage everyone to make it to their polling station—no matter where you live in Oklahoma.

We invest hundreds of thousands of dollars to make sure this data is current. We are always adding more information with the help of our Oklahoma and national partners. Voter data from every county in the state is in VAN, like voter registration information and vote history as far back as 1992, including Primary and General Elections. It is supplemented with run-off elections, special elections, and constitutional elections.

 Your VAN subscription includes:

  • Lists of registered voters, regularly updated with newly registered voters
  • Platform to canvass, phone bank, record contacts
  • Phone numbers, including cells from ODP and DNC acquisitions at no additional cost to the campaign

Who can use VAN?

VAN is available to Democratic candidates, campaigns, officials, PACs, and allied organizations. We verify the Party Registration of all candidates and campaign professionals using VAN and all requests are subject to approval by ODP.

Why do I have to pay for VAN?

The DNC invests hundreds of thousands of dollars into the VAN to make sure that it is current. Voter data from every county in the state is in the VAN, like voter registration information and vote history as far back as 2006, including Primary and General Elections. The small cost for candidates and organizations helps fund the continuous data updates (e.g., purchasing recent voter files from SOS, providing VAN support).
